Classification of explosion risk zones

Classification of explosion risk zones

DEFINITION OF CLASSIFICATION OF EXPLOSIVE HAZARDS

KSEx - classification and determination of the range of explosion risk zones resulting from the presence of hazardous substances in the form of gases, flammable vapors, fogs, flammable dusts and hybrid mixtures.

CLASSIFICATION OF EXPLOSIVE HAZARD ZONES - LEGAL BASIS

In accordance with the requirements of the directive 1999/92/EC ATEX USERS, the user is obliged to carry out an assessment of the risk of occurrence of dangerous explosive atmospheres, identification of dangerous places together with classification of explosion risk zones. The above requirement applies both to newly designed and existing industrial facilities / installations. Classification of explosion risk zones is not only an obligation, it is also a tool to determine the scope of protective measures necessary to maintain the continuity of the plant's operation and the protect the safety and health of employees.

CLASSIFICATION OFFER OF EXPLOSION HAZARDS

We offer you a comprehensive and balanced approach to the issue of protection against explosive atmospheres and proper classification of Ex zones. Our many years of experience in this field is based on the results of research in real life conditions and the involvement of advanced calculation methods, including CFD analyses. The work in this area covers all stages of the plant's life:

  • classification of explosion risk zones at the design stage - allows the elimination of incorrect assumptions (reduction of measures) and proper selection of explosion-proof equipment;
  • an analysis of the current situation with the development of a concept on how to improve safety to prevent the occurrence of explosive atmospheres. Our goal is to minimize explosion risk zones and limit their range, which directly affects the increase in safety and reduction of costs associated with the purchase of equipment;
  • verification of existing potentially explosive atmospheres, in particular after implementation of changes to the process installation in question or to the facility, which may have a significant impact on the level of explosion safety;

We support our research and calculations with CFD computer methods.

CLASSIFICATION REPORT FOR EXPLOSIVES ZONES

The result of our cooperation is a detailed report on the actual state of explosion safety. At the request of the customer, a set of recommendations is prepared in order to achieve an appropriate level of explosion safety.
